At Donington Park in 2020 Jeremy McWilliams became the first, and so far only, rider from the Island of Ireland to stand on a MotoGP podium. McWilliams, on an Aprilia, battled all race with Kenny Roberts Jnr. and Valentino Rossi, who went on to take his first ever 500cc MotoGP win that day. Jeremy eventually finished third.
