The first of the Ferrari V12T (‘T’ for transverse gearbox) models was produced for the 1975 season. This car considered to be one of the most beautiful Formula One cars ever built was the basis for Ferrari’s Grand Prix challengers for the next six seasons. The car formed the basis of the 312T2 in which Niki Lauda had his infamous, near fatal, crash at the Nurburgring, from which he returned to battle with James Hunt for the 1976 World Championship.
